AURICULAR EAR REFLEXOLOGY (AURICULOTHERAPY)
Ear Reflexology or Auriculotherapy is the stimulation of the auricle of the ear, by applying pressure to the ear reflex points encourages the body to heal itself. The principle behind ear reflexology theory, is that the ears are linked to the nervous system, the points, electrical impulses are passed from the ear reflexes, to the brain, and are relayed to the corresponding body parts or organs. Further theory behind ear reflexology, suggests, the nervous system impulses and the electrical impulses, relayed from the ear reflexes to the brain. The messages are relayed to the corresponding body parts, organs and meridians. There are over 10,000 nerve endings in the ear with auricular branches of the vagus and trigeminal nerves coming to the surface. It is thought that these nerves and the close proximity to the brain enhance the speed and efficacy of auricular work. Ears are sensitive and full of nerve endings making them an effective area to treat with reflexology.
Auriculotherapy was originally based on the ancient Chinese practices of acupuncture and acupressure, which are two ancient healing methods still currently in use. The Chinese theory says the six yang meridians are directly connected to the auricle and the six yin meridians were indirectly connected to the auricle by their corresponding yang meridian. The Chinese believe that the ear is the external flowering of the kidney and that the kidney stores our ancestral energy (Yuan Qi). Note the ear’s also resembles the shape of a kidney.
The Western theory explains when stress occurs in a part of the body, irritating chemicals form around nerve endings in reflexes in the outer ear, which relates to stress in the body. These irritations are called blockages or congestion which can slow the flow of bioelectric current through the nerves.

History of Auricular Reflexology
Ear reflexology was developed in France by Dr Paul Nogier in the 20th Century, who thought the ear reflexes resembled a baby in foetal position. Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) claims the origins of the medical importance of the ear thousands of years prior with cauterisation and later acupuncture. Nogier’s theories were combined with (TCM) formed the basis of Auricular Therapy.

Dr Paul Nogier’s describes the auricle as a homunculus (little man) of the body with the head represented by the ear lobe. This means that the ear is a miniature representation of the whole body, a micro-body (micro-system) in effect, the hands, feet, ear and face are also micro-systems.
Auricular reflexology is an wonderfully, powerful tool for psychological, physical, emotional and spiritual healing. You can massage your own ears daily which has great health benefits, I can show you how to do self-ear massage ? Studies have found that ear massage is a great way to reduce discomfort caused by muscle pain. A gentle pull and rub of the ear lobes stimulate the nerve endings that lead to the release of endorphins.
The ear reflexology will be followed up by ear acupuncture, by using the National Addiction Drug Alcohol NADA ear protocol, for addictions to drugs alcohol, overeating and detox, to complement and provide the ultimate, ear holistic treatment. A Special point called "Shen Men" is nicknamed "gateway to Heaven", and is thought of as a universal healing point to treat virtually any condition.
